Sidewalk Swept Once a Day

LVT Number: 9704

The DOS issued a violation notice to landlord for a dirty sidewalk. Landlord challenged the notice. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined her $50. Landlord wasn't making sufficient efforts to keep the area in front of the building clean. Landlord swept only once a day. Landlord appealed, claiming that the building's part-time superintendent swept every day between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. ECB again ruled against landlord. One daily sweeping isn't enough to maintain the front of the building.
