Drugs Sold from Tenant's Apartment

LVT Number: 17978

Landlord NYCHA terminated tenancy because drugs were being sold from tenant's apartment. Tenant appealed NYCHA's ruling. She claimed that she didn't know that drugs were being stored in and sold from her apartment. She said her ex-boyfriend did it and that he had moved out. The court ruled against tenant and upheld NYCHA's ruling. NYCHA held a hearing and found that tenant's claim of ignorance wasn't credible. Police found two bags of marijuana, 69 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, 45 packets of heroin, and 52 rocks of crack cocaine in tenant's apartment.
