Tenant's Visitors Caused Disturbances

LVT Number: 9486

Landlord City of New York sued to evict month-to-month tenant for nuisance. Landlord argued that tenant had given three visitors unrestricted access to the building, and that these visitors had caused repeated disturbances in the building's common areas. The court ruled for landlord, and tenant appealed. Tenant loses. Four of tenant's neighbors testified at trial about the disturbances caused by tenant's visitors, so landlord proved its case.
