Landlord Can Evict Based on Visitors' Disturbing Conduct

LVT Number: 11185

Landlord sued to evict tenant based on conduct of tenant's guests. Landlord and five other tenant witnesses stated at trial that tenant's guests loitered late at night around the building, in the lobby, and around tenant's apartment, acting in such a way that other tenants feared for their health and safety. Among other things, tenant's visitors intimidated tenants, urinated in the hallways, and vandalized the elevator. The court ruled for landlord. The conduct of tenant's visitors severely interfered with other tenants' quiet enjoyment.
