Super Evicted When Employment Ended

LVT Number: 7068

Landlord sued to evict a building's superintendent after super's employment ended. The trial court ruled for landlord, and the super appealed. The appeals court again ruled for landlord. The super had moved into the building in 1979. He never had a lease and never paid a security deposit. Although landlord deducted a portion of super's paychecks for use of the apartment, this in and of itself didn't create a landlord-tenant relationship.
