Landlord Proved Cost of Bathroom Renovations

LVT Number: 14380

Tenant complained of a rent overcharge. The DRA found only a small amount of overcharge. Tenant appealed, claiming that landlord hadn't proved the cost of bathroom renovations that was used in calculating the legal rent. The DHCR ruled against tenant. Although the invoice and canceled check for the work submitted by landlord were dated three months after the work was done, this was consistent with landlord's ongoing relationship with its contractor.
