Landlord Eliminated Storage Space

LVT Number: 16486

(Decision submitted by James R. Marino of the Manhattan law firm of Kucker & Bruh, LLP, attorneys for the landlord.) Landlord asked the DRA for permission to discontinue providing basement storage space to tenants. Landlord pointed out that the service hadn't been offered for a number of years and that it created a security problem to provide the storage. The DRA ruled for landlord and ordered a permanent rent cut of $8.00 per month for each tenant. Tenants appealed and lost. The DRA's decision was reasonable.
