Landlord Didn't Make Court-Ordered Repairs

LVT Number: 11620

Landlord sued to evict tenants for nonpayment of rent. Tenants claimed the building lacked essential services. In April 1997 the court ordered landlord to restore gas, electricity, and water, and to make other building repairs by certain dates in May. Tenants later claimed that repairs weren't made and that landlord should be held in contempt. The court ruled for tenants and ordered that fines in the amounts of $790, $590, and $580 be paid respectively to each of three tenants.
