Landlord Didn't Maintain Sprinkler System

The Fire Department issued a violation notice to landlord for violating Fire Rule No. 12. The inspector found that landlord failed to maintain its sprinkler system based on a broken water motor gong. This was a repeat violation. Landlord claimed that it fixed the condition the day after inspection. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined it $600. Landlord appealed and lost. On the date of inspection, the condition existed. So landlord was properly fined.
