Daughter of Public Housing Tenant Stabbed Neighbor

LVT Number: 9020

Poughkeepsie landlord asked the Housing Board of Review to evict public housing tenant after her daughter stabbed a neighbor in a fight. Tenant's daughter had injured another neighbor by hitting her on the chin with a rock, and tenant's son had been convicted of raping a child. Tenant claimed that there wasn't enough evidence to prove she was an undesirable tenant. Tenant loses. Based on the severity of the injuries tenant's daughter inflicted, the Board of Review could evict tenant. The court won't second-guess the agency's finding without good cause.
