Unaligned Door

LVT Number: 10433

Tenant complained of a reduction in services. An inspection showed that tenant's bathroom door wasn't properly aligned. The DRA reduced tenant's rent, and landlord appealed. Landlord pointed out that tenant complained about 21 items. An inspection showed that landlord had maintained or repaired 20 of them. There was no finding that the bathroom door didn't shut. The DHCR ruled for landlord and revoked the rent reduction. Since the door was the only unrepaired item and landlord had corrected all other conditions in good faith, the door didn't warrant a rent reduction.
