Typographical Error on Renewal Lease

LVT Number: #20196

Tenant complained of a rent overcharge. He claimed that landlord charged him $1,258 per month under his last renewal lease. But the renewal lease stated that tenant's monthly rent was $258. The DRA ruled against tenant. Tenant appealed and lost. Landlord's lease records showed that the base date rent paid by tenant was $1,172. Tenant's next renewal lease contained a typographical error. The legal rent collected by landlord under that renewal lease was $1,258. There was no rent overcharge.
