Tenant's Daughter Can't Get Rent-Controlled Apartment

LVT Number: #26831

Landlord sued to evict rent-controlled tenant’s daughter after tenant died. The daughter claimed succession rights. The trial court ruled against the daughter, who appealed and lost. The trial court fairly interpreted the evidence, including documentation that the daughter lived at two other locations with her husband during the relevant two-year period before tenant died. One of these locations was an apartment where the daughter and her husband were the rent-stabilized tenants.
