Tenant's Claim for Reimbursement for Repairs Made Too Late

LVT Number: 14704

Tenant sued landlord for reimbursement for repairs he made after unlawful eviction by prior landlord. Landlord argued that tenant's claim was time-barred. The court ruled against landlord. Landlord appealed and won. Tenant had six years to start his case, from the date he was unlawfully evicted, not the date he finished the repairs. Tenant started the case six and a half years after he was wrongfully evicted. So tenant's claim was made too late.
