Tenant Didn't Renew Lease

LVT Number: 8505

Landlord sued to evict tenant for refusing to renew her rent-stabilized lease. Tenant claimed landlord's notices were improper. The trial court ruled for tenant, and dismissed landlord's case. Landlord appealed, and the appeals court ruled for landlord. Landlord's termination notice stated the date tenant's last lease expired and that tenant hadn't signed a renewal offered by landlord. That notice also stated a specific date when the tenancy would be terminated, which was at least 15 days after the termination notice had been served.
