Tenant Can't Vacate Court Agreement

LVT Number: 11881

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Landlord and tenant signed a ''so-ordered'' court agreement by which tenant agreed to move out by Nov. 30, 1996, and landlord agreed to waive all rent due. Tenant later asked the court to vacate the agreement. The court ruled against tenant, and tenant appealed. The appeals court again ruled against tenant. The housing court judge who approved the agreement had fully explained it to tenant. Tenant showed no good cause to warrant setting aside the agreement.
