Tenant Asked for One-Year Lease

LVT Number: 17550

Tenant complained that landlord didn't renew her lease properly. The DRA ruled against tenant. Tenant appealed, claiming that in 2000 she asked for a two-year renewal lease. After one year, landlord asked her to sign another renewal lease. But tenant checked off a request for a one-year renewal on the 2000 renewal lease form. Although tenant claimed that she was paying rent for a two-year increase, the only checks she submitted to prove this were for the period after her one-year renewal lease ended.
