LVT Number: 13189

A building super sued landlord after he was shot in the building lobby by a man he had seen dealing drugs inside the building earlier in the day. The super claimed that landlord was negligent because it didn't properly maintain the front door locks or provide adequate security. Landlord knew that there was drug dealing going on both inside and outside the building. Landlord asked the court to dismiss the case without a trial. The court ruled against landlord. The super showed that landlord had notice of criminal activity in the building.
