No Good Reason to Reject Sublet Request

LVT Number: 15340

Landlord sued to evict rent-stabilized tenant for illegal subletting. The court ruled against landlord. Landlord appealed and lost. Tenant followed procedures for making a legal sublet request. Landlord didn't receive the additional information form returned by proposed subtenant. Landlord rejected tenant's sublet request as incomplete, but subtenant moved in anyway. Although subtenant moved in prematurely, tenant made a proper sublet request and there were no reasonable grounds to reject the sublet.
