Landlord Responsible for Stove

LVT Number: 11196

Tenant complained of a reduction in services based on a number of conditions. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced his rent. Among other things, the DRA found that tenant's kitchen stove needed repair since it wasn't attached to gas. Landlord appealed, claiming that tenant's lease stated that tenant was responsible for maintaining the stove. The DHCR ruled against landlord. While the case was pending before the DRA, landlord admitted that he was responsible for repairing the stove and said he'd made arrangements to do so.
