Landlord Not Required to Repair Squatter's Apartment

Occupant of city-owned apartment sued HPD, demanding necessary repairs and installation of a stove and refrigerator. HPD claimed that occupant was a squatter and that it wasn't required to provide her with any services. The court ruled for HPD. Occupant admitted she was a squatter, and HPD had started a separate court action to evict her. HPD wasn't required to provide her with services.
