Landlord Needn't Pay Super's Expenses to Repair Apartment

LVT Number: 11775

A former building superintendent sued landlord in small claims court for expenses he incurred in fixing up his apartment. The court ruled against super, and he appealed. The appeals court again ruled against super. Super was hired on a two-week trial b'asis and fired after five days. Landlord's claim that he only supplied super with paint for his apartment and didn't agree to reimburse him for apartment renovations was believable.
