Landlord Gets Increase for New Waste Compactor

LVT Number: 10627

Landlord applied for MCI rent increases based on the installation of a waste compactor. The DRA ruled against landlord, finding that landlord hadn't submitted appropriate sign-offs and approvals for the compactor. Landlord appealed. Landlord showed that it had submitted to the DRA an architect's certification for the compactor along with copies of the contract and canceled checks documenting its cost. The DHCR ruled for landlord and granted the MCI increases.
