Former Owner Illegally Locked Out of Building Where He Lived

LVT Number: #33015

Former building owner, who lived in the building, sued mortgage company for illegal lockout. The court ruled for the owner after trial. The owner testified that he'd lived at the building since July 2007 and continued to live there through September 2023. He denied ever receiving a notice to vacate or marshal's eviction notice. He also said he no longer had access to the building because his keys no longer worked and that he never moved his personal property out of the premises.
