Fire Department Can Mail Computer-Generated Copies of Violation Notices to Landlord
LVT Number: 14780
The Fire Department issued violation notices to landlord for repeat violations. Landlord claimed that it didn't get true copies of the violation notices because it got computer-generated copies. The ALJ ruled against landlord. Landlord appealed and lost. After placing copies of the violation notices at the building, the Fire Department was required to mail landlord copies of those notices. The computer-generated copies that the Fire Department mailed contained the same information as the copies left at the building, and nothing barred the Fire Department from sending computer-generated copies.
