Landlord Fined for Not Posting Fire Safety Notices

The Fire Department issued two violation notices to landlord for failure to maintain at the building a record of annual servicing of portable fire extinguishers, and failure to post fire safety notices on each dwelling unit door. Landlord submitted proof of correction and posting of a fire safety notice on each dwelling unit door. The ALJ dismissed the violations. The Fire Department appealed and won. The ALJ incorrectly dismissed the charges. Landlord was fined $825.
