Eviction Delayed for Four Months

LVT Number: 14184

Landlord receiver sued to evict tenants. Tenants had rented the apartment from a con artist who didn't own the building. Tenants believed that they had a valid lease when, in fact, they didn't. The court ruled for landlord, but delayed the eviction for four months. Tenants were single mothers who had given up another apartment, had children in the school near the apartment, and hadn't yet been able to find another place to live.
