Dented Apartment Entrance Doorframe

LVT Number: 17512

Tenant complained of a reduction in services based on a dented apartment entrance doorframe. After an inspection, the DRA ruled against tenant and dismissed her complaint. Tenant appealed and lost. The DRA properly determined that the dented doorframe was a minor condition that didn't warrant a rent reduction. The list of minor conditions in the Rent Stabilization Code includes the failure of an apartment entrance door to properly align, as long as the door still closed and locked properly. Tenant's door still closed and locked properly.
