Water Booster Pump Cost Added to MCI for Backflow Prevention Device

LVT Number: #27173

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on installation of backflow prevention valves and pumps. The DRA ruled for landlord in part, but disallowed the cost of water booster pumps. Landlord appealed and won. Landlord was required to install backflow preventer devices to comply with NYC and NY State regulations. And the costs for the water booster pumps were necessary for the backflow valve installations. After landlord installed the backflow valves, the water pressure dropped, and the existing pumps were undersized.
