Termination Notice to Licensee Defective

LVT Number: 17081

The owner of a house sent a notice to quit to his adult daughter, claiming that she had intruded into the house and was a squatter. The daughter had lived in part of the house with her father since 1989. The owner claimed that his daughter didn't have a lease, never paid rent, and kept 50 cats. Owner claimed that he couldn't afford to continue to support his daughter and the cats. The court ruled against the father and dismissed the case. The daughter was a licensee, and the notice to quit didn't properly describe her relationship to the property.
