Tenant Not Subject to Rent Stabilization

LVT Number: #26342

Tenant claimed that he was rent stabilized and that the city’s Department of Finance had denied his SCRIE benefit application based on a finding that his apartment wasn't subject to rent regulation. The DRA ruled against tenant, who appealed and lost. Tenant claimed his apartment was part of an apartment complex that was rent stabilized. But tenant’s claim was incorrect. Landlord had previously registered tenant’s building as rent stabilized, but this also was incorrect.
