Tenant Never Appeared to Defend Case

LVT Number: 8232

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant didn't appear in court, and the court ruled for landlord. Tenant then asked the court to vacate the ruling. But tenant didn't notify landlord of this request, and again didn't appear in court on the assigned date. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed, claiming he had informally appeared in court when he'd filed his request to vacate the ruling. The court ruled against tenant. Tenant had never appeared to defend his case.
