Tenant Gets Rent Abatement for Ceiling Leaks

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant claimed that, despite landlord’s attempts at repair, recurring roof leaks caused her bathroom ceiling to collapse several times and caused water damage to the apartment. The court ruled for tenant, ordered landlord to make repairs, and gave tenant a $200 rent abatement for the $600 rent due for the month of July 2015.
