No Gas Piping Test Needed for Electric Stove

LVT Number: #20616

DOB issued a violation notice to landlord for failing to have a new or altered plumbing system tested. The inspector said that a gas line from the building basement was hooked up to a gas-fired electric stove in an apartment. The ALJ found that landlord admitted this and fined landlord $500. Landlord appealed, claiming that it never admitted there was a gas-fired stove. Landlord showed that the oven was electric-fired and never had any gas connections. So there was no new or altered gas piping and no testing was required. ECB ruled for landlord and revoked the fine.
