No Building Registration Filed

LVT Number: 13792

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant claimed the case should be dismissed because landlord hadn't filed a building registration with HPD. Landlord argued that it had subsequently filed the building registration and was now entitled to collect rent for the period when the building wasn't registered. The court ruled against landlord. Even though landlord had now filed the missing building registration, it still couldn't collect rent for the period when there was no building registration on file with HPD.
