Landlord Needs Apartment for Daughter

LVT Number: 17737

Landlord sued to evict rent-stabilized tenant for owner occupancy. The trial court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Landlord, husband and wife, testified that they needed tenant's apartment for their daughter because the husband's brother and sister-in-law were moving to New York from outside the country and would be living in daughter's room in landlord's apartment. The trial court found landlords believable. Landlords proved their good faith intent to recover the apartment for owner occupancy purposes.
