Landlord Must Amend Renewal Lease to Show Security Paid

LVT Number: 19174

Tenant complained of an improper renewal lease. The DRA ruled for tenant, but stated that no security deposit should have been listed on the renewal lease because none was indicated on any of tenant's prior leases. Tenant appealed and won. Tenant claimed that she had paid an initial security deposit plus increases with her renewal leases. The DHCR said tenant showed that she had paid a security deposit plus supplements to various prior landlords. Landlord was ordered to amended its lease renewal offer to tenant to reflect the amount of the current security deposit.
