Landlord Filed Papers on Time

LVT Number: 8866

(Decision submitted by Jack Kuttner of the Manhattan law firm of Kucker Kraus & Bruh, attorneys for the landlord.) After winning its lawsuit against the DHCR, landlord asked the court for attorney's fees. The DHCR claimed landlord shouldn't get attorney's fees because landlord hadn't filed its request within the 60-day period required by law. The court ruled for landlord. The 60-day period was up on March 12. But since March 12 fell on a Saturday, the law extends the deadline to the following Monday. Landlord filed the papers on March 14, so it met the deadline.
