Fees Awarded to Landlord for Bankruptcy Case

LVT Number: 13167

(Decision submitted by Santo Golino of the Manhattan law firm of Kucker Kraus & Bruh, LLP, attorneys for the landlord.) Landlord sued to evict tenant. The court ruled for landlord and also awarded landlord $7,600 in attorney's fees, which included $3,000 for work done in bankruptcy court. After landlord had sent its termination notice, tenant had filed for bankruptcy and gotten an automatic delay of the eviction case. Landlord's attorneys had vacated the delay in bankruptcy court. Since the work was related to the eviction case, landlord could get attorney's fees for it.
