Tenant Didn't Pay Back Rent Due Under Settlement Agreement

LVT Number: 14422

Landlord sued to evict tenant for chronic nonpayment of rent. Landlord and tenant signed a settlement agreement in court by which tenant agreed to pay back rent and to pay rent on time. Landlord later asked the court for permission to evict tenant because tenant didn't comply with the settlement agreement. Tenant asked the court for a further delay to pay the back rent. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Given tenant's history of late payment and paying with bad checks, the lower court's decision was reasonable.
