New Elevators Met Required Safety Standards

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on an elevator upgrade. The DRA ruled for landlord, and tenant appealed. Tenant claimed that the upgraded elevator cabs were smaller than the old ones and lacked adequate ventilation and emergency exits. The DHCR ruled against tenant. Landlord submitted sufficient proof that the elevator upgrade met government safety standards. Tenant's other claims related to required services and should be raised in a separate complaint.
