Landlord Didn't Cure Elevator Violation

LVT Number: #22833

DOB issued violation notices to landlord for failing to comply with a prior order to correct an elevator violation, and for filing a false certification of corection. DOB's inspector originally found the elevator to have defective floor stops, worn car guide shoes, and an unsecured overhead door. Reinspection showed that the overhead door was still unsecured, even though landlord had filed a certificate of correction two months earlier. The ALJ ruled for DOB and fined landlord $5,600. Landlord appealed and lost.
