Work Done Without Permit

DOB issued three violation notices to landlord for doing work inside and outside the building without a permit. Landlord claimed that the interior alterations were done before he bought the building and that he had a permit for the outside work. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined him $800. Landlord appealed and lost. Plans and a survey for the interior work were dated after the purchase of the building. And the permit for the outside work covered only limited alterations of the ground and first floors. Landlord's work went far beyond that.
