Women's Shelter Operator Must Restore Tenant

Landlord operated a building as a sober home for homeless women and abuse victims. After landlord transferred tenant's belongings from a second-floor room in the building to another location, tenant sued landlord, claiming unlawful eviction. Landlord claimed that she was entitled to transfer tenant to another location, and that another tenant had already moved into tenant's old room. The court ruled for tenant. Landlord resorted to self-help and improperly evicted tenant without starting an eviction proceeding and obtaining an eviction warrant.
