Violation Notice Not Sent to Alternate Address

LVT Number: 18418

The Fire Department issued a violation notice to landlord by leaving copies of it at the building and by mailing the notice to landlord at the building. Landlord, a cooperative corporation, claimed that the notice wasn't sent properly. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined landlord $1,125. Landlord appealed, showing that the address on file with HPD for delivery of violation notices was different from the building address. The ALJ ruled for landlord and revoked the fine.
