Tenant's Post-Mitchell-Lama Program Leases Had Expired

Landlord sued to evict tenant of an unregulated apartment. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Landlord previously withdrew the building from the Mitchell-Lama program, and tenant signed several one-year leases with a reduced rents under the Landlord Assistance Program. But tenant’s last lease expired on May 31, 2008, and her subsequent month-to-month tenancy was terminated by a 30-day termination notice. Tenant showed no proof that she had signed any further renewal lease.
