Tenant Slipped on Front Door Saddle

LVT Number: 14639

Tenant sued landlord for negligence after she tripped over the front door saddle of her building, which was three-quarters of an inch in height. Landlord asked the court to dismiss the case without a trial. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Any defect in the front door saddle was trivial. Since it didn't constitute a trap or nuisance, tenant had no grounds to sue landlord.
