Tenant Shot Through Apartment Door

LVT Number: 10766

Tenant sued landlord, claiming inadequate security, after he was shot through the closed door of his apartment. Landlord asked the court to dismiss the case without a trial. An appeals court dismissed the case. Although tenant claimed that the shooting was related to drug-dealing in the apartment next door, he showed no proof of any connection. Tenant also didn't show that the shooters were intruders who gained entry to the building because the front door lock wasn't working or because the lighting was inadequate.
