Tenant Presents No Reasonable Excuse for Default in Rent Case

LVT Number: #26644

Landlord sued tenant to recover unpaid rent. The court ruled for landlord based on tenant’s failure to appear in court. Tenant appealed and lost. Although tenant presented a potentially meritorious defense to landlord’s claim, he failed to provide any reasonable excuse for his default.  Both  are needed to vacate a default judgment.
