Tenant Paid Amount of Judgment

LVT Number: 9834

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. The court ruled for landlord and ordered tenant to pay $890 in back rent and $1,000 in attorney's fees. Tenant appealed. The appeals court ruled against tenant on the judgment but barred execution of the eviction warrant. Tenant made a good faith effort to pay the amount of the judgment prior to issuance of the warrant and had in fact satisfied the judgment.
